At The Canadian Centre for Capoeira, our goal is to provide your children a professional, fun and friendly environment where your children can develop to be a happier&healthier individuals while learning to develop their physical and social skills.


In a day and age where technology is prevalent and many children are less and less active and spend much of their time staring at screens, its becoming more and more challenging to keep your children physically active and engaged while helping them have fun without creating the feeling they are forced to do something they "don't want to do", we strive to help them want to become active through the use of this wonderful Brazilian art form called CAPOEIRA.



In a time where it's becoming increasingly difficult to make your child excited about moving and staying healthy and active without giving the feeling we are forcing it upon them, we have a deeper understanding that in order to accomplish our goals for your children, we must find and expose your child to a high quality environment and social frame in which they can continue to develop.


in the years since TCC4C opened its doors everyone who has joined our Capoeira family has experienced drastic changes in their lives, the kids(&adults) have developed and improved their coordination skills, discipline, self confidence and respect, and learned to work in a social environment and build social&team work skills.

Our Kids Capoeira class challenges and develops them, while ensuring a safe and respectful environment in which every child can feel comfortable to learn at their own pace and time while providing a personal, warm and family like environment for everyone.

The skills and abilities your child can and will develop in our classes will remain with them and help take on any challenges they will face later on in their lives.

The game of capoeira has multiple proven physical, social, psychological and cultural benefits for children:

PHYSICAL- increased flexibility, strength, muscle endurance, cardio and motor skills.

SOCIAL&PSYCHOLOGICAL- Capoeira helps improve social skills, increase self confidence and coordination as well as to build discipline, respect and patience. It also develops leadership and teamwork skills while building a sense of community in a critical time in a child's personal development.

CULTURAL- Capoeira introduces kids to the Brazilian culture, history and the Portuguese language. Capoeira also helps children develop a sense of rhythm while learning to play musical instruments and sing Capoeira songs.


Adults in today's modern world have busy lifestyles and in addition to de-stressing and relaxing, they need a regular form of exercise to recharge their neurons. Capoeira makes it easier for us to motivate ourselves and stay healthy, active and strong.


How do we do that?

Capoeira is one of the few activities and sports in the world that combines all 4 major types of physical fitness: cardio endurance, flexibility, muscle strength and muscle endurance.

STRENGTH- Capoeiristas are always moving around on their hands - handstands, rolls - all of which drastically improves upper body strength. They also perform many jumping kicks and movements that improve leg strength. Capoeira training causes one’s body to cope with the rigors of physically demanding movements. The movements inherently build slow and quick twitch muscle fibers, enhance breathing and blood flow, build flexibility, build hand and eye coordination, balance and much more.

FLEXIBILITY- many Capoeiristas are on par with yoga practitioners in terms of their flexibility due to the many exercises and movements in capoeira which train you to stretch and expand your range of movement therefore improving your flexibility. even those who moderately improve their flexibility lower their risk for injury and increase their everyday mobility.

CARDIO - endurance and Stamina: Intense capoeira games can require enormous amounts of energy. This, combined with constant repetition of movements and techniques, makes capoeira a valuable cardio exercise.

MUSCLE ENDURANCE - Capoeira practice can require high amounts of energy. This, combined with constant repetition of movements and techniques, makes capoeira a valuable cardio exercise that boosts endurance.

CULTURE - Being a part of Capoeira is a lesson in Brazilian History and present day Brazil. It allows us to open our eyes and have a deeper cultural understanding for the country.

MEET NEW PEOPLE -When you join a capoeira group, you become part of a family and a community. You will meet people from your own city and all over the world through capoeira events and practice. Capoeira is at once a widely communal and a deeply individual experience. You will gain the ability to do things that most of the general public could never dream of. And in doing so, you will discover a true sense of uniqueness.

TRAVEL - Travel with the group for events across the world.

CONFIDENCE - If nothing else, capoeira is perfect for instilling a sense of pride and confidence in anyone who plays. Not only will you feel stronger and more courageous once you become comfortable in the jogo, you'll find confidence in knowing that you are unique among your (non-capoeira) peers because you can do things they couldn't imagine doing.

LANGUAGE - Portuguese language becomes a reality in Capoeira as you learn the music and the terminology you begin to understand Portuguese. You may not become fluent right away (though that’s always a possibility), but there is no doubt that you will come to understand and speak Brazilian Portuguese as you progress through the belts.

STRESS REDUCTION - A regular capoeira practice does wonders for relaxing the mind and body. The exercise boosts endorphins, which puts you in a better mood in no time.
